A group of Linwood College students[22] and 3 of their teachers are about to leave on the College's fourth exchange visit to Twynham School in Christchurch, Dorset in England. The group is flying by Emirates Air and for many of the tour party this will be their first flight.
Two days will be spent in Dubai on the way where the group will be having fun in the World's best Water Park, visiting the desert, swimming in the Indian Ocean and shopping.
Once in England the students will be hosted by the members of Twynham School who visited New Zealand in 2007. There are two major tours planned along with participation in the Christchurch Wine and Food Festival where Canterbury has a stand . There will be over 50 thousand visitors to this festival so it will be a good test of the students customer service skills.
The first Tour will be five days spent in Northern France visiting a wide range of attractions from The WW2 D Day landing sites, Mt Saint Michel, Monet's house at Giverny, Paris, WW1 sites on the Somme and the hypermarkets in Calais.
The London trip will include visits to the Tuthankhamun Exhibition, Madame Tussaud's Wax museum, theatre, Harrods, British Museum and the Natural History museum. When in London the group will be staying on a boat moored in Docklands owned by the National Scout organisation.
Thanks must go to the important people and organisations that have made this visit possible including Mark Coulter of Twynham School, the Christchurch, England Sister Cities Committee, Linwood College, parents [particularly Julie Hewitt] and the tour organiser Ian Morrison from Linwood College.

In 1998 a group of 18 students and two teachers from Twynham Comprehensive School in Christchurch, Dorset, were hosted by Linwood College.
The visit led to a sister school arrangement with reciprocal exchanges each alternate year by the schools. A very warm relationship between the two schools has been forged, with many students establishing personal and lasting friendships.
