10 Councillors, 4 staff and a reporter from Christchurch's Korean sister city Songpa-gu will visit Christchurch 16-17 October, as part of an overseas tour.
While in the city, the group will visit the Songpa-gu Garden, Halswell Quarry Park and visit the Christchurch City Council Civic Offices to learn about the operations of the council and the Canterbury Development Corporation. They will be formally welcomed to the city by Deputy Mayor Carole Evans, Crs Sally Buck & Pat Harrow and the Christchurch-Songpa-gu Sister City Committee.
The group will also visit Middleton Grange School and International College, who recently hosted a group of students from Ogum High School, Songpa and signed a sister school agreement with Ogum High School.

In February 2001 Mayor Lee Yoo Taek, his wife, six city officials and a business delegation of 10 visited Christchurch as official guests at the opening of the Sister Cities' Gardens at Halswell Quarry Park. The group was hosted by the city and the Christchurch - Songpa-Gu Sister City Committee for 3 days and were treated to a feast of cultural, social and scenic experiences.
